Getting Started with QPlay
Welcome! This guide is written for anyone who has never used IPTV before. We'll take it step by step — from ordering a subscription to sitting on your couch watching your favourite channels.
What is IPTV?
IPTV stands for Internet Protocol Television — which in practice means watching TV over the internet instead of through an antenna, satellite dish or cable. It might sound technical, but in everyday use you won't notice the difference. You open an app, log in and start watching.
What sets IPTV apart from regular streaming services like Netflix or Disney+ is the sheer breadth of content. With QPlay you get access to thousands of live TV channels from around the world, hundreds of thousands of movies and series on demand — all on your TV, computer, phone or tablet.
Step 1 — Order a subscription
To get started you need an active QPlay subscription.
- Go to qplay.tv/subscribe
- Choose the plan that suits you — we offer monthly, annual and two-year subscriptions
- Complete the purchase — it takes less than a minute
Once payment is confirmed you'll receive an email with your login credentials, known as Xtream Codes. You can also find these on your account page at any time in case you lose the email.
What are Xtream Codes?
Xtream Codes is a login system consisting of a server URL, a username and a password. These three details are what you use to log into your IPTV app and load all the content from QPlay.
Step 2 — Download an IPTV app
To watch IPTV you need an app that can play the content. Think of the app as an empty shell — it has no content of its own. QPlay delivers the channels and movies once you log in with your credentials.
Here are our recommendations depending on your device:
| Device | Recommended app | Alternative |
|---|---|---|
| Android TV / Android box | TiviMate | Opus IPTV |
| Apple TV / iPhone / iPad | UHF | IPTVX |
| Samsung Smart TV | Extreme IPTV | IPTV Smarters Pro |
| LG Smart TV | SET IPTV | IPTV Smarters Pro |
| Windows | IPTV Smarters Pro | - |
| Mac | UHF | - |
We have detailed installation guides for each app in the left menu if you need help with your specific device.
Step 3 — Log in with your Xtream credentials
When you launch the app for the first time it will ask how you want to add a subscription. Regardless of which app you use, the same rule applies:
Always choose the "Xtream Codes API" option.
Then fill in the following:
| Field | What to enter |
|---|---|
| Playlist name | Anything you like — we suggest "QPlay" |
| Server URL | Found in your confirmation email |
| Username | Found in your confirmation email |
| Password | Found in your confirmation email |
Press Log in, Add user or Connect depending on the app. After a few seconds all your channels, movies and series will load automatically.
Can't find the email?
Check your spam folder. If it's not there either, log in at qplay.tv and retrieve your credentials from the account page.
Frequently asked questions
How fast does my internet connection need to be?
We recommend at least 30 Mbit/s for HD and 50 Mbit/s for 4K. Most modern broadband connections handle this without any issues.
Do I get access to all content immediately?
Yes. As soon as you log into the app you have access to QPlay's full library — no extra steps required.
Can I watch on multiple devices at the same time?
You can install QPlay on as many devices as you like, but only stream on one device at a time. If you need simultaneous streams, contact our support team and we'll help you out.
How do I know if a movie has Swedish subtitles?
Look for categories named "Nordic" or "Svensk film", or titles marked with "SE" or "SWE". We also have a separate guide on Swedish subtitles that explains this in detail.
